Sheriff's office gets federal grant for drug-impaired driving enforcement

The Cabarrus County (NC) sheriff’s office won a grant that will help expedite alcohol and drug blood testing from impaired driver testing that is currently backlogged. By sending impairment testing to NMS Labs, test results can be available for court in as little as two weeks.

Trial for alleged poisoning is postponed until November

NMS was able to provide toxicology results to Crawford County in northwest Pennsylvania. Initially it had been ruled a young boy had died of asphyxiation due to a seizure disorder. NMS Labs found that the child’s blood sample contained methanol.
